Biography

I am a PhD student in the Department of Computer Science, Speech and Hearing research group. I am interested in using state-of-the-art speech technology, machine learning and natural language processing to develop an automatic tool to help neurologists in identifying early stages of dementia.

Previously, I have been involved in a project known as HomeService which is aimed at controlling home devices such as TV, lights and phones by the automatic speech recognition (ASR) for people with speech difficulties (eg dysarthric people). Using the HomeService ASR, I've developed a voice controlled mouse and keyboard to control computers using very simple voice commands such as "move left", "right" and "click".
